I am right handed. If you are a lefty switch hands.
1. Presto Reverso Card Trick
Spectator’s card mysteriously and magically reverses itself in the deck.
HOW TO DO IT:
Spread the cards and have one selected.

Have your spectator look at their card and show it around. Tell them you will turn around so you don’t see their card. When you turn around do two things:
- Flip the deck over so it is face up in your hand.
- Turn the card at the face, the one you are looking at, face down.
Do this casually, nobody is really watching. You can even do it in a joking manner.
Turn back around. Hold the deck squared up tightly in your hand. Press the top face down card against the deck with your thumb so no face up cards show.
Have your spectator push their card into the center of the deck.

Push the card all the way in so it is square with the deck. Tell your spectator you will find their card in less than 3 seconds.
Bring the cards behind your back or under the table. Flip over the top card and bring the face down deck back out. Spread the cards showing their card is face down in the middle.

2. Mind Reading Card Trick
You read your spectator’s mind and tell them the card they are thinking of.
HOW TO DO IT:
Have your spectator shuffle the cards. Take them back and turn the deck face up. Casually and quickly spread the cards showing they are all different. Remember the card 2nd from the top.

Turn the cards face down and square up the deck. As a nice touch, tell your spectator you want this trick to be impossible so you will bury the top card and the bottom card.
Place the two cards into the center. Your force card is now on top. You will force it using the Cut Deeper card force.
Cut Deeper Card Force
Have your spectator lift off a small group of cards, about 10 or so, flip them face up, and place them back onto the deck. Tell them to do it again, yet this time lift off a bigger group of cards.
Spread the face up cards until you get to the first face down card, which is your force card. Show it to them and have them remember it. Turn all the face up cards face down on top of their card so their card is buried in the deck.

MIND READING:
You need to build up the trick a little bit. Here are some things you can say:
- You lifted off packets of cards twice which was pretty random.
- I didn’t know how many cards you would flip over.
- There is no way I could know your card.
- Concentrate on your card.
- I’m getting a red card…a heart…you’re thinking of the KH.
You can use any card force for this trick. For more great forces check out The 10 Best Card Forces for Magicians.
3. Spelling Card Trick – Self Working
Your spectator deals cards into a pile. You randomly stop them on one card, the one they are thinking of.
This trick can be performed over the phone.

INSTRUCTIONS TO GIVE YOUR SPECTATOR:
- Place any 9 cards face down on the table in 3 piles of 3.
- Look at and remember the bottom card of any pile.
- Place this pile on top of another pile.
- Place this packet on top of the last pile.
- Pick up the cards and hold them face down.

- Spell the value of your card into a pile, dealing one card per letter.
*Do it silently - e.g. – If your card is a 2, silently spell T-W-O as you deal 3 cards. If it is a king, silently spell K-I-N-G as you deal 4 cards.
- Place the rest of the cards you are holding on top.
- Pick up the packet and spell O-F, dealing two cards.
- Place the rest of the cards on top.
- Pick up the packet, and silently spell the suit of your card, one card per letter – clubs, hearts, spades, or diamonds.
- Place the rest of the cards on top.
- Pick up the packet.
Their card is now 5th from the top, which is cool. I cannot explain how this works.
FINDING THE CARD:
- Have your spectator slowly deal cards. Stop them on the 5th card.
- Have your spectator spell MAGIC or anything with five letters. If your spectator’s name is four or five letters have them spell their name.

4. Card Changes in Their Hand Card Trick
Wave over a card on your spectator’s hand and it changes into their card.
HOW TO DO IT:
You need to get a key card. A key card is when you secretly know the bottom card. It is important to peek the bottom card in a way that your spectators don’t see:
The Casual Peek
Hand the deck out to be shuffled. Many times your spectator will inadvertently flash the bottom card as they hand back the deck.
The All Around Square Up Card Sleight
Grasp the deck from above with your right hand as you are squaring it up. Casually rotate the cards 180° clockwise, moving the inner edge to the outer edge.

Slightly tilt the bottom of the deck up just enough so you can see the bottom card. It will appear as if you are just adjusting the cards in your hands. Nobody will suspect the peek.
SETTING THE KEY CARD:
Have a card picked. Tell your spectator you will deal piles and they should put their card on top when they want. Lift off small packets of cards and place them into a pile on the table.

Repeat until your spectator places their card on top. Place the rest of the cards in your hand on top, putting your key card right above their card.
FINDING THE CARD:
Pick up the deck and hold it so the faces are toward you. Run through and find your key card. Their card is the one under it. Take out their card without them seeing it.
You are going to do a miscall. Let’s say their card is the Jack of Hearts. Hold up the card and say, “Your card was the 2 of Spades.” They will say no. Have them place their hand palm up and place the card on top.

Wave your hand over the card and now turn it over showing it is their card. It seems that you changed the wrong card into their card.
Pro Tips
Your spectators will forget the details of the trick and give you so much more credit than you deserve. They will say that they saw the card change in their hand or they felt it change.
Act confident when taking out their card and then surprised when you are wrong. This will make the change stronger.

5. Double Prediction Card Trick
You predict the cards your spectator will randomly pick.
HOW TO DO IT:
Place two jokers face up on the table. Have your spectator shuffle the cards. Take the deck back and spread the cards on the table showing they are all different.

Take a look at the the 2nd card from the top and the 2nd card from the bottom. Square up the deck and turn it face down. Write down the two cards you looked at on a piece of paper.
Tell your spectator you are writing down a prediction. In this example you would write down the KH & KD.
Tell your spectator you want this to be random so you will bury the top card and the bottom card. Your force cards are now on top and bottom. Burying the top and bottom card is a nice subtelty.
Deal cards one at a time, face down, into a pile. Have your spectator say “stop” at any time. When they stop you place one of the jokers on top of the last card you dealt. Place the rest of the cards on top.
Pick up the deck and repeat with the 2nd joker. Spread the cards on the table. Turnover the face down cards directly on top of the jokers. Explain that they could have said stop any time, it was random.

Your prediction matches.
Pro Tips
If you don’t want to use jokers you can use any two face up cards, or napkins, or business cards
6. Lazy Man’s Card Trick – The Best Self Working Card Trick
A card is picked and your spectator cuts it into the deck several times. Without ever touching the cards you know its exact position in the deck.
SETUP:
Setup the deck secretly before the trick. You can use any suit. Here I will use the hearts. Place the ace of hearts through the ten of hearts on the bottom of the deck.

HOW TO DO IT:
Spread the cards facedown, on the table or in your hands, and have a card selected. When doing tricks on the table I always use a magician’s close up pad.

Square up the deck and place it face down on the table. Have your spectator place their card face down on the deck and cut it into the center.
Have them cut the deck one more time and turn the deck face up. Your goal is to see one of the ten hearts at the face. If not have them cut again until there is one of the ten hearts at the face.

The value of the heart tells you how many cards from the top their card is. Let’s say they cut the seven of hearts to the face of the deck. This means their card is 7 down from the top.
Turn the deck face down. You could just tell them their card is 7 cards from the top and it is a good trick. Yet it is better to use a little showmanship here.
THE REVEAL:
Place your hand above the deck and act as if you are concentrating.
- Your card is 32 down from the top.
- Wait, it just moved, your card is now 24 from the top.
- It moved again, your card is now 7 down from the top.
Deal to the 7th card. Flip it face up showing their selected card.
PRO TIP:
If they cut the cards over and over and a heart does not appear have them do an off center cut.
This is the easiest card trick here and probably the best one.
7. Three Down Card Trick
You know the card that is 3 down from where they cut the deck, 3 times in a row.
HOW TO DO IT:
Have your spectator shuffle the cards. Take the cards back and turn the deck face up. Spread through showing they are all different. Remember the card that is 3rd from the top, this will be your 1st card – AH.

Do this casually, the trick hasn’t started yet. Square up the cards and turn the deck face down.
Place the deck on the table and have your spectator cut the deck in half. Lift up the bottom half they just cut to and tell them that 3 cards down tells you the 3rd card in the other half.
Push over a 3 card packet, lift them up, and look at the 3rd card without your spectator seeing. Tell them that this card tells you the 3rd card down in the other packet is the ace of hearts.

Remember the card you just looked at – 10C.
Place the 3 cards back on top and place the packet back onto the table. Deal 3 cards down in the other packet and flip it over showing the ace of hearts.
Turn the ace of hearts face down and place this whole packet into the center of the other packet. You are now set to repeat this sequence. Your next card is the 10 of clubs.
PRO TIP:
Do this a total of 3 times. More than that is too much. You will find in routining magic tricks 3 times seems to be the right number.
Conclusion
The easy card tricks here are all foolers. Go over them a few times and you will have some strong card magic in your arsenal. I guarantee your spectators will consider you a card expert.
When performing card magic you want to vary the types of tricks. Most card tricks involve a card being selected. I have included some tricks where a card is not picked.
The Lazy Man’s Card Tricks is an incredible trick. Since there is a setup you will want to start with this trick. Then move on to tricks that require no setup.
